What: Yoga classes for cyclists with Certified Yoga teacher Ina Stojic Where: Bray Wheelers ClubhouseWhen: Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks @ 7.30–8.45pm Commencing 7th January 2020Cost: Will depend on numbers. Approximate cost of €63.75 per head for 6 weeks based on 8 people attending. Full payment will need to be made directly to the instructor when numbers attending are confirmed.

More details…As cycling is not a natural movement like running or walking, therefore is more likely to cause muscular imbalances and postural changes. This commonly results in tight hip flexors, neck, shoulder and back strain.
All this can lead to chronic problems such as lower back pain that will affect your daily activities, not to mention your riding, in the long-term.
Yoga is particularly good for dealing with these cycling-specific issues because many yoga postures are designed to target the hip flexors and lower back, developing muscle strength and stability. Yoga practice also keeps you focused on a deep and steady breath, forcing you to work aerobically.
During the 6 weeks Yoga Program we will focus on mobilising and strengthening tight hamstrings, calves and thighs, as well as discomfort in the lower back, shoulders and neck. Focusing on these areas through specific exercises, we will improve the body’s resilience to injury, flexibility, transport of blood and nutrients to muscles. Through specific breath exercises, we will learn how we can take control of our heart rates and access more power on the bike. Special Intro Offer for this 6 Weeks Yoga Program is €85 per class (1hr 15min).
Ina Stojic is certified (RYT 200) Yoga Teacher and practitioner since 2012. She is teaching regular yoga classes in Anahata Studio in Bray (www.anahata.ie), as well as private classes.
