BWCC – SPIN PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES

Welcome to Bray Wheelers Cycling Club.
Below are some recommendations that will help you to prepare before you join each spin.

BEFORE THE SPIN
· Check weather forecasts and make sure you have the correct gear.
· Check the posted route and make sure you are comfortable that you will be able to maintain the pace of the group. Routes will be posted in WhatsApp groups, club website Forum and/or on BW Facebook page 48 hours in advance.
· Ensure your bike is road ready – check tyre pressure, chain oil and brake pads.

ON THE DAY OF THE SPIN
· Sign up to the spin with the Spin Leader
· Arrive in time to provide emergency contact details. If you will be joining enroute you must let the spin leader know in advance.
· Indicate hazards using hand and voice signals to riders behind.
· Maintain a consistent pace:
Avoid surging or racing when you are on the front.
Let the group know if people have dropped off the back of the bunch.
· Please be aware:
Helmets are required for all Bray Wheelers spins.
Taking selfies while riding, and wearing earphones are not permitted on any spin.

AFTER THE SPIN
· Eat, put your feet up and relax!
· Post any photos you may have taken to the group to be used on social media.
