On the long spin it is VERY IMPORTANT that everyone waits at certain points and junctions....

We have varying abilities on the long spin and whilst it is acceptable for people to go on ahead on hills it is important that those who are ahead wait on everyone else....this is for a few reasons:-

a) If someone has a problem they need to know that they are not going to be left out on their own (they may need assistance);

b) We need to encourage people not discourage people!! It is very disheartening to arrive at the next junction to find everyone gone on ahead and with no possibilty of catching up;

c) We are beginning to lose some of our regular riders, this is because it is becoming too fast and too difficult for some people. This is not a training spin....

Finally to mention that some people were left behind on the long spin last week, this is not acceptable.....we need to make sure that everyone is accounted for at all times......

To re-iterate.....this is a long spin......NOT a long training spin.......

Thanks and regards

Edited to add:- There was a young lady left at the start last week as well....due to the speed at the start she was not able to stay with the group - once again this is not encouraging to "would be" members of our club...

Its extremely sad that 6 years later this is still an issue............. :( :shock:

If Tony is not on the spin someone needs to take charge and make sure the group stays together.....We (Tony and myself) have been hearing reports about last weeks and various other spins where Tony has not been on them and how the group has ended up scattered to the "fore winds"..... is it such an impossible task for the group to stay together when Tony is not there??????????

Well said Jane & Tony . . . Our 9.30 Saturday/Sunday Race training groups would be delighted to bolster our numbers with your 10 group warriors.
