Bray did extremely well in the Youth and Junior Championships over the weekend with Caoimhe Ivory taking gold in the Junior Track Pursuit and setting a new women’s junior outdoor record in the process. As Caoimhe knocked over 4 seconds off the previous record this time is likely to stand for some time to come. Congratulations to Caoimhe who has put in a huge amount of work over the past few weeks – so this is a very well deserved medal.

At the Youth Nationals in Enniscorthy Will Ryan took gold in the criterium Championships with his brother Archie getting up for the bronze medal. Will also took silver in the road race and bronze in the under 12 time trial.

Ben Docherty took the silver medal in the mornings time trial and unfortunately broke his wrist after crashing in the afternoons road race. We wish Ben a speedy recovery. Congratulations to all our medal winners and to everyone who took part.

Just to remind members that there will be a another Bring Buy, Sell, Swap Give Away Night for all club members. This is open to Sorrento members also. If you have cycling paraphenalia, clothes, parts, spares that you want to get rid of or you just fancy coming along to have a nose and pick up a bargain please do so. The date is Wednesday the 11th of September in the Bray Wheelers Club House at 7:30.

The vets race on Sunday was the Sonny Cullen memorial GP where Damian Doyle placed in 5th place in a bunch finish.

We would also like to remind everyone that there will be a beginners spin on Saturday – all the details are on the website.

Congratulations also due to our chairperson Gillian Peelo on the birth of her daughter Holly last week. We wish her, Dave and Holly the best of luck.
