Bray Wheelers welcome new members

We always welcome new members to the club. Currently the club has about 250 members. The club is primarily a cycle road racing club, but members are also involved with leisure cycling, touring, track racing and mountain biking.

Beginner Spins

 

Details of beginner specific spins will be announced in due course.

Club Activities

Open races

The club promotes two open races in each year – the Shay Elliot Memorial (A+/A1/A2) and the Christy MacManus Memorial/Roundwood GP (A2/A3/A4 Youth).

Club Races

Bray Wheelers stage club races for members every Thursday evening, from May to August, meeting up at the Calary Car Park at 7.00pm.

 

Underage and Entry Level Spins

For the younger riders we run a spin on Sunday afternoons in the winter, and Monday evenings in the Summer months. This would also suit newcomers to the sport. If you would like more information about Underage cycling, please contact

Randonnée

The club will hold two Randonnees with the Paddy Martin Randonnee and the Joe Loughman Randonnee. Throughout the year, Bray Wheeler members will participate in numerous events up and down the country. for more information see events

History

Established in 1949, the club is one of the oldest and most respected cycle racing clubs in Ireland. Early members include; the late Shay Elliot, the first Irishman ever to hold the yellow jersey in the Tour de France.
